Hastings Borough Council agree to commence compulsory purchase of the Pier!
Hastings Borough Council Cabinet unanimously agreed to proceed with the compulsory purchase of the Pier from its absent owners, Ravenclaw.
Our recent feasibility study by Leisure Development Partners and Colman Architects indicated that £8m would be required for the first phase development. Following a meeting with Nick Hurd, Minister for Civil Society on Tuesday in which the trustees highlighted the outline plans for the pier, it was announced that CommunityBuilders would continue to be supported by the current coalition Government.
This means that HPWRT’s current funding strategy for the renovation and reopening of the Pier can continue.
More information can be found in this article which appeared in Hastings Observer
